VW Switches to E-mobility: New Models from 2024

Electric Evolution

Starting in 2024, Volkswagen will embark on a comprehensive electrification journey. The German automaker will introduce a range of electric vehicles (EVs) across various segments, marking a significant shift towards sustainable mobility.

Small Car Segment Debut

The first offering in VW's EV lineup will be a compact electric car that will enter the market in 2024. This model will cater to the growing demand for affordable and eco-friendly vehicles in the small car segment.

Larger Electric Alfa Romeo

Following the compact EV, VW plans to introduce a larger electric vehicle based on the STLA-Large platform. This model is expected to be a sportier and more premium offering, designed to compete with high-end electric vehicles from other manufacturers.

Tayron Successor

In addition to its electric models, VW will also introduce a new combustion engine vehicle in 2024: the Tayron. This model will replace the Tiguan Allspace and will be offered with a seven-seat configuration.

Norway Goes Electric

Norway has emerged as a pioneer in EV adoption, and VW has announced that it will exclusively offer electric vehicles in this market from 2024 onwards. This move demonstrates VW's commitment to transitioning to sustainable mobility in one of the most progressive EV markets globally.

VW, BMW, and Mercedes Face Challenges

While VW embraces electrification, German automakers such as BMW and Mercedes are reportedly facing challenges in the transition. These companies have been heavily reliant on combustion engine vehicles for their profits, and the shift to EVs presents a significant financial hurdle.
