Rangers Edge Panthers in OT Thriller, Goodrow Scores Game-Winner
Bennett Opens Scoring, Tarasenko Nets Game-Tying Goal
The New York Rangers emerged victorious in a captivating overtime battle against the Florida Panthers, triumphing 4-3 in a thrilling shootout at Madison Square Garden on Friday night.
Barclay Goodrow's Overtime Heroics
The game-winning moment came in the extra frame when Barclay Goodrow found himself in the right place at the right time. With just 4:56 elapsed in overtime, Goodrow capitalized on a Panthers turnover and fired a quick wrist shot past Sergei Bobrovsky to secure the victory.
Bennett's Early Advantage
The Panthers drew first blood when Sam Bennett scored in the first period, assisted by Radko Gudas and Anton Lundell. However, the Rangers responded with a barrage of their own goals, including one from Artemiy Panarin, another from Vincent Trocheck, and a power-play marker from Kaapo Kakko.
Tarasenko Ties It Up
The Panthers refused to go down without a fight. In the third period, Vladimir Tarasenko scored a crucial goal, tying the game at 3-3 and forcing overtime. Both teams traded chances in the final minutes of regulation but failed to find the back of the net.
Bobrovsky's Solid Performance
Sergei Bobrovsky stood tall for the Panthers, making 23 saves and keeping his team in the game. However, it was not enough to overcome the Rangers' offensive firepower and Goodrow's timely heroics.
