Robert Alba Keith, better known as Brian Keith, was an American actor who graced the stage and screen for decades. His greatest fame came in the 1960s sitcom classic Family Affair. On June 24, 1997, Keith's life came to an abrupt and tragic end.Born on November 14, 1921, Brian Keith was the son of character actor Robert Keith and stage actress Helena Shipman. He grew up on the road with his parents, following their theatrical engagements. From a young age, Keith displayed a talent for acting, making his first film appearance at the tender age of three.
Keith's career was interrupted by World War II, during which he served in the Marines as a machine gunner. After the war, he resumed his acting career, appearing in over 100 films and television shows. However, despite his success, Keith struggled with personal demons, including alcoholism and depression.
