Brussels Cycling Classic 2023: Arnaud Démare claims victory
Lund Andresen and Meeus round out the podium
Démare sprints to victory in Brussels
Arnaud Démare (Groupama-FDJ) has won the 103rd edition of the Brussels Cycling Classic. The Frenchman outsprinted Tobias Lund Andresen (Uno-X Pro Cycling Team) and Jordi Meeus (BORA-hansgrohe) to take the victory.
The race was held over a distance of 207.1 kilometers and featured a challenging course with several climbs. Démare was part of a breakaway group that formed early in the race, and he was able to stay away from the peloton until the finish.
In the final sprint, Démare was the strongest rider, and he crossed the line first to take the victory. Lund Andresen and Meeus finished second and third, respectively.
Démare's victory is his first in the Brussels Cycling Classic. It is also his first victory of the 2023 season.
